Once you’ve finished Dead Space Remake on any difficulty, the New Game+ will become available. In this mode, players can upgrade the suit to Level 6, can also achieve the secret ending, and then there is the Phantom Necromorphs.

Phantom Necromorphs are basically the stronger and tougher version of the original Necromorphs. They have more limbs, a purplish tint to their skin, and red eyes, which makes them more terrifying.

It’s not just a matter of appearance. Phantom Necromorphs are stronger, attack faster, and take more firepower to kill and sever the limbs. It was designed this way so players won’t be overpowered in the New Game+.

There are three variants of Phantom Necromorphs: Phantom Slashers, Phantom Leapers, and Phantom Lurkers. You will also encounter them in your first playthrough as well. But it’s only on the last levels of the game that serve as a mini-boss.

But in New Game+ mode, they will be spawned from the first chapter of the game until the end. If you have already upgraded most of your weapons, you shouldn’t have much problem defeating Phantom Necromorphs as well.
