“The Stars in Their Eyes” quest in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC tasks you to find something called the Words of Attainment. Unlike most missions involving looking for items, this one only shows you the general location instead of a waypoint to the exact spot. This Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores guide will tell you where and how exactly you can get the Words of Attainment.
Where Can I Find the Words of Attainment in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores?
The Words of Attainment in Burning Shores is not an item but actual words that act as a password. Aloy needs to learn these words in order to get past Brenik and enters the Ascension Hall. There are three ways to find and learn the Words of Attainment:
1. Talk with Kiral
First, watch all the hologram displays and pay close attention to the dialogues because the words are hidden inside them. Next, speak with Kiral, the woman standing in front of the huge screen in the right corner. To get the Words of Attainment from her, pick the “Attainment?” dialogue option first. She’s going to be hesitant but pick the “A new world” option, and she’ll share it with Aloy and Seyka:
“Okay, I’ll tell you. ‘Only through devotion may I embrace his light. Only through him may I ascend to a new world.'”
2. Speak with Otosu
You can also talk to Otosu, the man in front of the bench downstairs. Just like before, choose “Attainment?” The dialogue options will be different but choose “They were dedicated.” Although still reluctant, Otosu will say what the password is:
“Repeat this to Brenik. ‘Only through devotion may I embrace his light. Only through him may I ascend to a new world.'”
You don’t have to speak with both of the Quen Devotees as long as you get one of the answers right. But if you select the wrong options, they’ll never want to share the Word of Attainment again. So if you get both answers wrong, then you need to reset them. Simply pause the game and restart from the previous save, and you should be back just when Brenik stops you.
3. Find a Quen Devotee’s Journal
However, you don’t actually have to talk to the Devotees to learn the password. There’s a staircase in front of Otosu. Beside it, you should see some crates leading to a small room. Head inside and look for a book lying on the ground along with some snacks, near the Ancient Valuable Chest in the corner. Press Triangle to investigate the journal, and Aloy will find a scroll that has the Word of Attainment in it, which reads:
“Even now, I repeat the Words of Attainment in my head: ‘Only through devotion may I embrace his light. Only through him may I ascend to a new world.'”
