Despite being an entirely different kind of game, Fallout Shelter features many of the same items and systems as its RPG counterparts. Your vault dwellers can take damage, go out and scavenge for materials, take on quests, and even take radiation damage. It’s not unheard of to come across bandits and radroaches. When your vault dwellers have a moment to breathe, it’s always important to top them off with Stimpaks and RadAway. Stimpaks obviously heal you in Fallout Shelter, but what exactly does RadAway do?
What Does RadAway Do in Fallout Shelter? Explained
Simply put: in Fallout Shelter, RadAway heals radiation damage your vault dweller has taken by 50%. It functions exactly how it does in other titles in the Fallout series, except it’s a percentile rather than a flat amount. If your vault dweller takes enough radiation, it can drastically shorten their maximum health, so it’s important to keep their rads to a minimum.
When you send your vault dwellers out, you can adjust the amount of stimpaks and RadAway you want to send with them. Whenever they take too much radiation damage, they’ll use it automatically.
Where to Get RadAway in Fallout Shelter
There are two ways to get RadAway in Fallout Shelter and one is much more reliable than the other:
- Created in a science lab
- Found out in the wasteland
In order to make your own RadAway, all you need to do is grow the population of your vault to 16 vault dwellers and you’ll unlock the science lab. Be sure to assign dwellers with the highest intelligence to get the best results.
As for out in the wasteland, you can find RadAway by looting lunchboxes and by completing quests. Whenever you open a lunchbox, there’s an 18.4% chance it’ll contain a RadAway.
