Are you confused about what Resilience means in Dead Island 2? The game shows you many stats but never actually explains what each one of them is for. Some are self-explanatory. For instance, Agility is your movement speed, and Toughness is your physical damage protection. Resilience, on the other hand, stands out as being the odd stat in the bunch with no real explanation around it. Each of these stats is important when you’re fighting zombies in Hell-A, but it is also important to understand what they are for. This guide will show you what Resilience means in Dead Island 2.

What Does the Resilience Stat Do in Dead Island 2?

You are running down the streets of Hell-A when you are attacked by a zombie. Each stat applies in this instance. Agility is your ability to run away. Peak Health is how much HP you have to work with. Resilience, however, doesn’t line up with either of those and won’t apply in all cases. Resilience matters when you are going up against enemies like Inferno Crushers. This is because Resilience is how much you can withstand status effects.

You need to worry about five elements in the game: caustic, fire, water, electric, and stun. Each of these resistances is affected by your Resilience. Don’t worry. There are more statuses that you can get affected by throughout the game. Each of them ties into the core resistance and your Resilience. The greater your Resilience, the more you can withstand these ailments and fight back against the zombies that cause them.

How To Raise Your Resilience in Dead Island 2

In Dead Island 2, your stats are very important and will, in more situations, determine whether your character lives or dies by the zombie hordes. If you are looking to raise your Resilience, the best way to do it is by choosing to play as Carla. This is because her Resilience stat is the best out of every character in the game. The other characters don’t have Resilience as their main stat, but the worst of them is Jacob. He has the least Resilience out of all the characters. As you level up, your stats will gradually increase. You can also use weapon mods and perk cards to change your stats and have them better for your play style.

Dead Island 2 is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5
