Looking for new pets to get and want to know whether the Moon Cat is worth buying? Added in Update 1.07.1, the Moon Cat is a Legendary-tier pet with powerful passives and a design that stands out among the rest. But beyond the mystical vibes, what exactly does Moon Cat do in Roblox Grow a Garden? And how useful is this pet?
The Moon Cat is a silver, stripe-patterned cat pet with glowing whiskers true to its Night theming. Visually, it’s one of the most distinct pets yet, but its value goes far beyond aesthetics. At Age 10, the Moon Cat begins to shine — literally and figuratively — thanks to its powerful passive skills.
Unfortunately, you can’t just buy the Moon Cat whenever you want. The pet is only available in the Twilight Shop, which appears during Night Events and costs 100,000,000 money or 439 Twilight Tokens.
Roblox Grow a Garden: Moon Cat Abilities Explained

Once bought, the Moon Cat has two major effects on your farm.
First, its Moon Nap ability. Every 60 seconds, the Moon Cat will curl up in a random spot on your farm and nap for about 20 seconds. During this time, it emits a glowing aura. Any fruit growing within 20 studs of the aura grows roughly x1.51 larger than usual.
Then its second passive is Moon Harvest. The Moon Cat will give you a 6.08% chance that Moon-type fruits won’t disappear when harvested. This essentially lets you pick them twice in a row. While this replanting skill can highly boost your production, nevertheless, only five plants are affected:
- Moon Blossom.
- Moonflower.
- Moon Glow.
- Moon Mangos.
- Moon Melons.
Is the Moon Cat Worth It?

Yes, absolutely; the Moon Cat is a straight upgrade over earlier Roblox Grow a Garden pets. Especially the cat ones like the base Cat or the Orange Tabby. Based on our quick tests and confirmations from various Roblox YouTubers like Intensity and ItzVexo, the Moon Cat’s abilities are incredibly OP.
Simply put, with 2,400 Hunger, an Age 10 Moon Cat’s aura can easily match an Age 30 Orange Tabby. Its replanting passive makes it a massive time and resource saver for players focusing on yield during the Nighttime event. Especially if you pair the feline with mutated Moon Mango crops.
Moon Cat is an all-purpose farm companion that works for late-game farming as well. If you enjoy optimizing fruit size or running Moon-type crops, this one is easily one of the best long-term pets to invest in. Just make sure you can afford it and catch it in stock.
