Do you want to know how to counter Sableye in Pokémon Go? The Pokémon Go mobile game continues to enamor potential players with its augmented reality, where people can capture, train, and battle with Pokémon as if they exist in the real world. Sableye is a creepy, alien-looking Pokémon introduced in the third generation of Pokémon games. Sableye’s unique Ghost/Dark typing makes it a difficult Pokémon for players to counter against, especially those who aren’t experts with past Pokémon titles. This guide will inform you of Sableye’s weaknesses in Pokemon Go.
Who is Sableye in Pokémon Go?
Sableye is described as the Darkness Pokémon with the appearance of a little goblin/alien. The Little Darkness Pokémon first appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the third generation of Pokémon games. When it was first introduced, Sableye had no weaknesses. Sableye’s Dark/Ghost duo type was unique, with both types counteracting the other’s weaknesses.
However, that changed with the introduction of Fairy types in Generation VI. Dark type ended up becoming weak against Fairy, meaning Sableye’s Dark-type gave it a vulnerability against Fairies. In the same Generation, Sableye was given a Mega Form that gives it an extra boost in stats. Mega Sableye is formidable to face off against in potential raids in Pokémon Go, and if you ever encounter one in the mobile title, bring a Fairy Pokémon.

Best Counters for Sableye in Pokemon Go?
Sableye’s biggest weakness in Pokémon Go will be Pokémon with Fairy attacks, specifically Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, and Play Rough. Fairies are resistant to Dark-type moves, so it’s best to have a Fairy-type face Sableye to negate most of its Dark attacks. Be warned, though, if you face a Mega-evolved Sableye, Mega Sableye’s defense will be heightened.
Gardevior is one of the best Fairy-type in the game and is the best to use against Sableye. Gardevior has overall great stats in Go and can learn Charge Moves like Dazzling Gleam, which will be very effective against Sableye. Charm will also be a good Fast Move for Gardevoir to have. Gardevoir can also Mega-evolve, becoming a perfect counter to Sableye’s Mega-evolution. Shadow Gardevoir is also a formidable opponent to use.
Other great Fairy Pokémon to counter Sableye in Pokémon Go are Togekiss and Shadow Granbull. Togekiss should have Charm as a Fast Move and Dazzling Gleam as a Charge Move, whereas Shadow Granbull should have Charm as a Fast Move and Play Rough as a Charge Move.
