Nobody was expecting it, but everyone is thrilled. On September 28th, Bethesda stealth dropped a brand new mobile game, The Elder Scrolls: Castles. Interestingly, Bethesda has been radio silent on the game since its launch. We are here to answer the question that’s burning in everyone’s minds: “What exactly is The Elder Scrolls: Castles?”. Read on to find the answer to this and so much more about Bethesda’s new title.
The Elder Scrolls: Castles Explained
First and foremost, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is not a traditional Elder Scrolls game. Rather than play as the cliched ‘chosen one’ archetype, you instead assume the role of a (hopefully) noble king or queen. The game revolves around you making time-sensitive decisions regarding all aspects of running a kingdom. Resource management, construction, and keeping your citizens are all central to your success. Sending civilians off on adventures and quests is also a job you will oversee as ruler.
If all of this sounds familiar to you, then you are absolutely correct in your observations. The Elder Scrolls: Castles is absurdly similar to Bethesda’s other massively popular mobile game Fallout Shelter. This is not a complaint, by the way. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get an Elder Scrolls counterpart to what is arguably the best management simulator ever made.
Unfortunately, if you didn’t download The Elder Scrolls: Castles shortly after its launch, you’ll have to wait a bit for your turn. The game is technically still in early access, and there are no more available slots to join. Even worse, the game still hasn’t made its debut on the iOS App Store!
Sadly, Bethesda hasn’t given even a slight hint on when the full game is dropping. Of course, we will let you know once the mobile game is available. Until then, however, be sure to stay updated on Starfield and other notable Bethesda projects!
