DREDGE gives off the illusion of being a simple fishing game, but there’s a darkness lurking beneath that keeps you on your toes. Even so, one of the many things you do in the game is fish out and earn items. But when it comes to the Signet Ring, players are at a loss as to what to do with it. Let’s figure out exactly what the Signet Ring is used for, if anything, in DREDGE.

What is the Signet Ring Used for in DREDGE?

What is the Signet Ring Used for in DREDGE?

So far, the Signet Ring has caused some back-and-forth discussion between DREDGE players. When you get the item, this is the description:

  • “A ship’s wheel sigil is emblazoned proudly on this ring. Such a symbol is sure to bring good luck to any captain that holds it.”

It stands to reason that many would think that simply keeping the ring in their inventory will somehow help out during the game. However, many players report experiencing nothing different in terms of gameplay by holding onto the Signet Ring.

When you head to a Trader, it shows you can sell the Signet Ring for $90. So, as of now, it seems like the Signet Ring is only used to make some quick money in DREDGE and nothing more.

Of course, some players are still keeping it in their inventory as a precaution. This is all because of the issue with the Brass Knuckles that many experienced. Those were easy to sell too, but you could have actually given them to a character labeled “Grieving Father” instead.

Even so, the Signet Ring is automatically moved into your Trinkets inventory, giving it a good sign that it is used for selling only in DREDGE.

If you’re not just confused about what the Signet Ring is used for in DREDGE, but where it is, it is not something that you can find in the waters in the game. Instead, you are potentially rewarded with it at the end of a quest.

Go to one of the unnamed islands between Devil’s Spine and The Marrows. Look for “SOS” spelled out on a beach, and it’s there that you will find a Castaway. Speak with him and agree to take him to Little Marrow. If you can’t find him, look for L-10 on the map.

Note: you can lose the Castaway and, thus, never get the Signet Ring. If your ship takes damage or is destroyed, the Castaway can die, and that’s the end of it.

DREDGE is available on PC, PS5/PS4, Xbox One/Series, and Nintendo Switch.
