When you log into Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, you’re probably confused by the huge Yellow Gold Circles covering the game’s map. And you’re right, there are a lot of players who’re struggling to understand what the Yellow Circles on the Fortnite Chapter 5 map mean. Nevertheless, you’ll learn all about what they are and everything you need to know about them down below.

What Are the Yellow Circles in Fortnite Chapter 5

With Chapter 5 Season 1, Fortnite received many new additions. Essentially, new items, new weapons, new movement mechanics, a new map, and a bunch of Fortnite bosses have been added.

Five different bosses have been added to the game: Montague, Oscar, Nisha, Valeria and Peter Griffin. We can say that these bosses, which are located in different POIs of the game, protect the Vaults in the location where they are located. When you find the locations of these bosses and kill them, you can get Mythic weapons such as Enforcer AR, Frenzy Auto Shotgun, Hammer Pump Shotgun, Striker AR, and Hyper SMG, which you can only find from these bosses.

In addition, each boss drops a Society Medallion. These Society Medallions increase your Max Shield and also allow you to automatically replenish your missing Armor. However, one major drawback to using these medallions is that the user will appear as a Yellow Circle on the Fortnite Chapter 5 map.

There is another type of circle that is close to the same color but looks a bit more like the Golden Circle. This will appear when you buy a Bounty from the Bounty Board. If particles are spinning around the Yellow Circle, it means that a player with a Society Medallion is inside the circle. If you see a line inside the Yellow Circle rotate clockwise like a sonar system, this means that your Bounty Target is inside the circle.

Society Medallions are quite helpful and will refill your shield without spending any resources. This alone is enough reason to use them. You can also collect all five of these Society Medallions by killing all bosses, or by killing other players carrying them.

The more Medallions stacked on a single person, the more benefits they provide. But as these medallions are stacked, the Yellow Circle — which shows your location to other players on the Fortnite Chapter 5 map — will shrink. This makes it easier for other players to find your location. You’ve been warned!
