We also caught several Ditto in the last event and now wonder what to do with Ditto in Pokémon GO. Ditto is the master of disguise, able to transform into any Pokémon it faces, showing off its moves and type. Recently, there was a Ditto event that had players worldwide catching loads of these shapeshifting blobs like never before. Ditto is more than just a cute blob of goo — it’s a versatile and cunning Pokémon that can add excitement and unpredictability to your battles. But now that you have a handful of Ditto’s in your arsenal, you might wonder, “What on earth do I do with them?” This guide will cover what you can do with Ditto in Pokémon GO and explore its unique abilities, potential strategies, and creative uses.

One use of Ditto is for scouting out gyms. When you encounter an opponent’s Pokémon in a gym, Ditto can transform into that Pokémon and use its moveset during the battle. This allows you to see the full range of moves that your opponent’s Pokémon has, which can help plan your battle strategy.

Since Ditto copies the moveset of the Pokémon it transforms into, it can be an excellent way to practice battling against specific Pokémon types and learn their movesets without risking your own Pokémon in battles. Imagine facing off against a powerful opponent and then unleashing your level 50 hundo Ditto, which transforms into a replica of the foe with the same level and stats. It’s like having a doppelgänger as formidable as the original.

Despite its limitations in battles, Ditto can also be a valuable asset in completing particular research tasks and challenges. For example, some tasks require you to catch a specific Pokémon. Ditto can transform into that Pokémon, making it easier to complete the task without searching for the specific Pokémon in the wild.

Another fun use of Ditto is for surprising your friends in PvP battles. Imagine their surprise when they see your Ditto transform into their own Pokémon and start using their moves against them! It can be a clever strategy to catch your opponents off guard and gain an advantage in battle.

In addition, Ditto can breed with other Pokémon in the mainline Pokémon games, and this feature may be introduced in Pokémon GO in the future. This could open up new possibilities for using Ditto to breed and create powerful Pokémon with desirable movesets and IVs.

Pokémon GO is available on Android and iOS platforms.
