Perhaps I’m fantasizing a bit, but wouldn’t it be great for a TV show about secretive vampires to come back secretly? What We Do in the Shadows is only just set to premiere its third season, but we’ve already got some news that the show will be coming back for its fourth season sometime in the future. FX has renewed the show for 2022, and the hit dark comedy series has been enjoying a fairly decent reception on FX and Hulu over its run.
“Fans can’t seem to get enough of What We Do in the Shadows and FX is ready to feed that appetite by setting up the series for a fourth season. Our thanks to the extraordinary job by the creative team, cast, and crew who keep making a great show better each season.” – Nick Grad, President of Original Programming at FX.
What We Do in the Shadows graced our screens in 2019 on TV, while Season 2 followed it last year. The mockumentary movie, on which the show is based, was back released in 2014 and starred Taika Waititi, Jermaine Clement, and Jonathan Brugh, among others. Some of the characters in the movie appeared in recent episodes of the show, which is produced by Clement and Waititi. The show stars Kayvan Novak (of Four Lions, Fonejacker fame) alongside Matt Barry (The IT Crowd). It features some guest appearances from many high-profile names in acting, including Mark Hamill, Tilda Swinton, and Dave Bautista. Season 3 is on the horizon, with a premiere date set for September 2.
