As mentioned previously, the game was released for PC on October 25, 2023. Console players, however, have been given a release window of November 2023. It is a bummer that console players have to wait longer, but one month really isn’t all that much. Besides, the game is still in early access, and will probably remain that way until at least mid-2024.

The release of Ark: Survival Ascended has gamers everywhere excited to dive back into the franchise, but let’s keep a certain distinction clear. This game is an entirely separate entity from Ark 2, which is set to launch at the end of 2024. Instead, Ark: Survival Ascended is a sort of remake/remaster of its predecessor.

The most immediately obvious difference about the remake is the huge leap in graphical fidelity. The game looks phenomenal, and the lighting feels genuinely next-generation. However, that is far from the only upgrade. Better enemy AI, an upgraded UI, improved sound design, and tons of gameplay tweaks. Add the fact that Studio Wildcard managed to keep split-screen as a feature and you can see why hype for this game is so high.
