In May of last year, Nightdive Studios finally released the remake of System Shock to PC after years of delays and setbacks. Unfortunately, the PC release still left console gamers out in the cold vacuum of space, and many fans were wondering when the remake of the 1994 game would be available on more platforms than just PC. Thankfully, the wait is over. Nightdive Studios has officially announced that the remake of System Shock will be coming to consoles in less than two months from now. The console remake will also include some brand-new, never-before-seen features.
System Shock Remake Is Coming to Xbox & PlayStation Soon
Released in 1994 for PC, Mac, and MS-DOS, System Shock was a first-person action-adventure game that puts the players in the shoes of a nameless hacker aboard Citadel Station, a space station in 2072. The player is tasked with thwarting the evil plans of a rogue AI called SHODAN. The game’s 3D graphics and physics engine were innovative at its release, and it’s aged enough to spawn a Kickstarter for a remake in 2016.
