You have a ton of freedom to go wherever you want in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As you explore Hyrule, you will find plenty of recognizable locations in Breath of the Wild. One area you might want to check is the throne room. Before, this was where you would find Calamity Ganon, but now, you are free to come and go. Here is where you can find the throne room in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

As you might expect, the throne room in Tears of the Kingdom is in Hyrule Castle. Since the building is floating, you must fly to reach it. You can assemble a flying vehicle, but the easiest way is from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. Launch into the sky and glide north. Gliding to the castle will require at least a wheel and a half of stamina. If you don’t have that, consider making some stamina-boosting meals or elixirs.

When you reach the castle, look for the large opening at the front. If you came gliding in from the Skyview Tower, you shouldn’t have to deal with any enemies. That said, climbing up the castle from another way will likely lead you to encounter various monsters. Luckily, there are no Guardians that you have to watch out for like Breath of the Wild had.

While normal people like us would call this area the throne room, the game refers to it as Sanctum. In the previous game, you only got to see this area for a little bit during a cutscene, but now you can walk around the area and explore it.

To get yourself the Champion’s Leathers armor piece, walk up the stairs to the throne and light the two torches in front of it on fire. This will open the stone box behind the throne, where you can open a chest and get Zelda’s secret gift for Link. There is a clue to this in the well behind Zelda’s house in Hateno Village.

Now that you know where to find the throne room in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you can make your way here anytime. After completing the Regional Phenomena main quest, you will come here for story reasons, but outside that and the armor, there isn’t much to see in this room.
