Feathers are one of the most challenging materials to find in Dying Light: The Beast, yet some of the most useful ones, especially for those who want to take down zombies from afar quietly. While resources such as scrap and wiring can be found almost anywhere, feathers are a bit trickier yet not impossible to locate. Below are the best places where you can find feathers in Dying Light: The Beast.

Villa Area

While Old Town is the first zone of the game and the one we recommend you stick to at least until you reach level 4, the truth is that you can explore the entire map. One of the areas closest to Old Town is called the Villa Area. Since it is level 6, it might be too challenging to visit during the early levels, but if you’re careful enough and sneak around, you will be able to make your way through it. We recommend it because there are farmhouses in the area, most of which have chicken coops, which will always spawn a couple of feathers. If you’ve already unlocked a Safe Zone, you can loot the coops, return to it to rest, and the materials will usually respawn after a couple of in-game hours, letting you farm feathers for as much as you want.

The other spots that may contain feathers are either Dark Zones, Towers, or sometimes in traders’ inventories. Of all three, Dark Zones is your best bet to grab a few feathers, since most zombies will drop a couple of them. There’s also a high chance that you’ll find a bunch of them just by looting the building. Ironically, we grabbed a lot of feathers from the Hardware store in Old Town, which you can locate in the image below.

Like other places on the map, the loot inside Dark Zones also respawns after a few in-game hours. If you know the layout of any of these places, you can go inside, loot it, and keep returning until you get your feathers. Although it won’t be as fast as with the chicken coops, it offers another option to add variety.

Last but not least, most Towers that become Safe Zones have feathers at the top. Since you’ll likely be unlocking them to use as a spawn point, it is a good idea to visit these early in the game and start taking note of where some feathers spawn. But if you prefer to avoid exploring and want to buy the materials instead, we recommend visiting Doug, Town Hall’s trader, and checking his stock; he sometimes has feathers that you can purchase.

Ultimately, the choice is yours when it comes to farming feathers, but going for the Villa Area is your best bet. It may not be the safest because you need to level up, but once you know where this elusive resource spawns, you’ll be set for all your feather needs.
