Wild Litleo Encounter in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Litleo is a Normal-type lion cub Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolves into the Normal- and Fire-type Pyroar after reaching Level 35. While Litleo does excel in Speed and SpAtk, its stats are generally too low to be effective in Trainer Battles or Tera Raids. However, this small lion cub can be a great companion in the early portions of one’s playthrough. Pyroar, on the other hand, is an excellent combatant against Grass-, Ice-, Steel-, Bug-, and especially Ghost-type pocket monsters in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Litleo is fairly easy to find since it inhabits a large yet singular portion of the Paldea map.

Litleo Map Locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To get Litleo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must search in Area One of the East Province and Area Five of the South Province of Paldea. In other words, this lion cub will spawn in the general southeastern portion of the world map in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

If Trainers are looking for Litleo during the end or postgame section of their playthrough in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they should be able to catch the lion cub immediately with a single Poké Ball throw. However, those who have yet to reach Level 30 or higher will need to ensure they use the right counters to weaken Litleo in order to perform a successful capture. According to Game8, Litleo is immune to Ghost-type Moves but is weak to Water-, Fighting-, Ground-, and Rock-type Movesets. Any attacks with these elements will deal double the damage, enabling Trainers to easily subdue the cub and catch them in a Poké Ball.

If players are looking to level their Litleo and evolve it into Pyroar in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the most efficient way for leveling would be feeding the lion cub EXP Candy or Rare Candy. EXP Candy can be farmed from Tera Raids, which can be started as early as Level 8. Therefore, even new players should be able to start earning EXP Candy within the first few hours of their journey. After attaining Level 35, Litleo will automatically transform into its superior form, Pyroar.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
