Despite Mudkip being one of the more popular starters, not everyone chooses it. There wasn’t a way to catch this Pokemon in the wild before, but with the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC, you now have a chance to find Mudkip in a single location. One area is more than enough for us, but there is something you must do before you can reach Mudkip. Join us as we break down each step so you can add Mudkip to your Pokedex as soon as possible.

Not only did the Indigo Disk DLC add new Pokemon, but it also allowed returning pocket monsters like Mudkip to show up in the wild. Beforehand, you’d have to resort to trading or transferring to get it if you didn’t select it as a starter.

How To Gain Access to Mudkip

To find Mudkip in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk, you must first complete a Support Board request:”Boost Biodiversity in the Coastal Biome.” For this, you’ll need to send 3000BP to the Terarium Club. This is only done via the League Club, so you must finish the main game and complete “The Way Home” quest to unlock the Club.

As you see, you need plenty of points to unlock access to find Mudkip in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You’ll gain BPs (Blueberry Points) each time you complete Blueberry Quests. So, simply save up your points as you go through the DLC.

In the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC, Mudkip has a single spawn location: the Torchlit Cavern. It’s in the Coastal Biome, and once you follow the requests we mentioned above, you can head there to find the pocket monster. This cave system is located right beneath the large mountain in the biome. With it unlocked, all you have to do is venture over there and catch Mudkip. Now, you can complete both your main Pokedex and the Blueberry Pokedex.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available for Nintendo Switch.
