Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have an excessive amount of Pokemon to collect. Keeping track of where to catch all of them on the overworld map can be a hard task. Luckily, some of them are way more common than others. Stunky is a popular Pokemon for those looking to add a strong Poison and Dark type to their team. Let’s explore where to find Stunky in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Those looking to find Stunky in Pokemon Violet may be disappointed. Stunky is version-exclusive, meaning the Pokemon does not appear in the Violet version of the game. If you want to add Stunky to your Pokedex or team, the only way to do so is to trade it from Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Home. You can also get lucky in the Surprise Trading feature. However, this is not the most reliable method.

Finding Stunky in Pokemon Scarlet is easy. The Poison/Dark type is actually a common sight if you know where to look. It is not a daunting task like catching a legendary.

Stunky can be found in the following locations in Pokemon Scarlet:

  • West Province Area Two
  • South Province Area Three
  • South Province Area Five
  • Two Star Tera Raid Battles

Flying to Porto Marinada and heading north is the easiest way to encounter Stunky. The Pokemon is slightly rarer in the South Provinces.

Stunky has a pretty defensive type combination. Because it is Poison and Dark, it only truly has one major weakness. Utilizing Ground types is your best bet for super-effective attacks. However, remember not to defeat the monster if you want to catch it!

Stunky eventually evolves into Skuntank. This Pokemon retains its typing and is useful while traveling in Paldea due to its low amount of weaknesses.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
