From time to time in Warframe, you need to put down the gun and make room for fishing equipment, especially if the Nightwave Battle Pass demands it. One of the pass’s weekly challenges involves catching three “rare” Servofish, synthetic machine fish residing in Orb Vallis. The problem is, even the ‘How To’ instructions in Nightwave are vague, so allow us to help you where to find rare Servofish in Warframe.
Types of Rare Servofish & Warframe Rare Servofish Locations
A rare Servofish in Warframe has a distinct appearance, like Orokin specimens. If you’ve been playing Warframe long enough, you know their aesthetic. The Orokin have pale, ghostly skin or carapace and are gilded in gold. Rare Servofishes, for that matter, share the same Orokin appearance.
But just in case, look for the following rare Servofish names while fishing in Orb Vallis. We’ll detail where and when they appear. You can also check the map image above for fishing spots.

To save time and effort, just go to a cave in Orb Vallis during its Warm phase and look for deep water. You’ll have to be patient as all three rare Servofish in Warframe take their time to spawn among the uncommon and common Servofish.
Tips to Catch Rare Servofish
You can hasten the process by using special baits and the right fishing spear. Try fishing for rare Servofish using the following equipment:
- Charamote Bait
- Synathid Bait
- Tomyzon Bait
- Shockprod Fishing Spear / Stunna Fishing Spear
You can acquire all of them from The Business in Fortuna, Venus. In case you don’t have the required Standing to purchase specialized Servofish fishing spears, you can always use the fishing spears you get from either Cetus, Earth, or the Necralisk, Deimos. It will be harder to catch fish using spears from other open-world hubs, of course.
However, we do recommend prioritizing the bait over the specialized Servofish fishing spear (Stunna Fishing Spear) since the bait will help the rare Servofish spawn more.
There’s one more item that can help you see the fish better, and that would be:
- Luminous Dye
You can purchase the dye from Fisher Hail-Luk in Cetus, Earth. It will illuminate any fish in any body of water so you can aim better. You’ll need to equip a fishing spear first and then press the dye key to use the Luminous Dye. Even then, you’ll have to aim true and be precise; if you miss, getting the rare Servofish to relax or spawn again can be a pain.
