The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a dangerous one, not only for the Arisen; it can also affect NPCs such as poor young Rodge. When arriving at the Checkpoint Town, you might hear the pleas for help from a grandfather in this location. Should you accept the quest, the game will introduce you to the timed quests mechanic, which, as the name implies, needs to be tackled fast. So, if you’re biting your nails for finding the poor abducted kid, we have his location right here.

Before we delve into specifics, allow us to give you Rodge’s location in Dragon’s Dogma 2. You can find the lad inside the Putrid Cave east of the Checkpoint Town. This is, of course, easier said than done. The journey to reach this location is long, and you’ll have to dash through the darkness of night to reach it.

How To Find the Putrid Cave

After talking to many NPCs in the town, most will tell you Rodge enjoys picking flowers that glow at night. This is your first clue to find the cave. You can wait at a bench until it gets dark and follow the road to the flowerbeds some NPCs will suggest. Once it’s night, you can follow the petals until you reach the cave’s entrance. If you cleared the road before, it should be a smooth journey to your destination; otherwise, we recommend ignoring enemies since this is a timed quest.

As you can see, we utterly failed to rescue the poor boy. All we found inside the cave were scraps from his outfit, which is what you can bring to his grandfather back in town.

While looking for the kid, we spent more than an hour looking for Rodge, so our guess is that after an hour, he’ll die. Again, this is just speculation, and we’d have to confirm this by replaying the quest during a new adventure. However, the time to rescue him might be shorter, so prioritize this quest over any other you might have.
