They say knowledge is power, but all power comes at a great cost. And with that piece of wisdom out of the way, let’s get to the meat of this, which is discussing one of the most dangerous yet intriguing grimoires in the game. ‘On the Transference of Souls’ is a couple of books in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that can lead you to a scavenger hunt across both nations. While they seem extremely powerful and eerie, is finding them worth it? That depends on every Arisen.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: On The Transference of Souls Tomes Location

There are two volumes of ‘On The Transference of Souls’ in Dragon’s Dogma 2. You might stumble upon them by chance, but finding them isn’t too challenging. However, if you are someone with OCD or eager for discovery, it’s important to know where to find each book.

The first ‘On The Transference of Souls’ book is easy to find, provided you’re following the game’s main story. Once you reach Battahl’s Border Checkpoint Town, head to the vendor that handles forgeries. If you browse his inventory, you’ll spot the first volume, which you can buy for 2,000 gold. By itself, it won’t do anything, so it’s time to search for the second book.

The second ‘On The Transference of Souls’ book won’t appear inside a store’s inventory or in a chest. Instead, you’ll have to reach Battahl’s capital and speak with Issac, the potion’s vendor. Once you talk to him, he’ll mention he has the first volume and desperately needs the second one. However, his eyesight is suffering, and he can’t finish reading it. He’ll ask you to bring him a Rippned Quince. We found one inside a chest of Digger’s Ruin, but you can find them in the wilderness as well. Once you return it, he’ll ask for the book and tell you he’ll share his findings in a couple of days.

Without spoiling much, after returning to the city, you can follow Issac to his home to see the results of the grimoires’ spells. Should you choose to stay, you’ll see the sad outcome of this man’s research and get rewards by interacting with the nearby sandpile. After that, it’s uncertain where the tomes are or if you can use them, but we’ll keep searching to see what secrets these books hide.
