The best TMs that you can find in any Pokemon game are the ones that require a bit of work. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk includes a ton of new TMs, including Dragon Cheer. It takes some time before you can take advantage of this dragon-type move, but it’s well worth the wait. Let’s take a look at where to find the Dragon Cheer TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk as well as the best Pokemon and strategies you can use.

To find the Dragon Cheer TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, you need to defeat Drayton of the BB League Elite Four. To do this, you need to:

  • Go to the Polar Biome
  • Complete Drayton’s Elite Trial
  • Challenge and defeat the former champion.

If you teach the TM to Dipplin, you can evolve it into Hydrapple. Just teach the move to Dipplin and watch the evolution cutscene unfold. You don’t need to level up the Pokemon or do anything else after that. The following are all of Dragon Cheer’s effects:

Best Pokemon For Dragon Cheer

The following are the Pokemon that we recommend teaching Dragon Cheer to:

  • Hydrapple – As part of its evolution from Dipplin.
  • Sneasler – Paired with Dire Claw, its naturally high crit chance can become 100%.
  • Ogerpon – Paired with Ivy Cudgel, its naturally high crit chance can become 100%.

Recommended Dragon Cheer Strategies

When battling in a double battle, this move is most effective. It’s also incredibly affecting in VGC since critical hits are important. We don’t recommend teaching Dragon Cheer to a Pokemon that will consistently be in single battles. Fortunately, you don’t need to worry about wasting the TM. You can always make more of the TM using the TM Machine in the Central Plaza using the following resources. You’ll just need to keep hunting for them every time you want to remake the Dragon Cheer TM:

  • 1,500 League Points
  • 2 Tatsugiri Scales
  • Lapras Teardrop
  • Applin Juice

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk is available now on Nintendo Switch.
