In Coral Island, Mayor Connor will eventually lose his hat, which he tasks you with finding. This quest starts with a letter from Connor, telling you that some strong winds have taken his hat and he needs help finding it. The Mayor’s iconic headpiece is a tan bucket hat, and, depending on the season, there’s a small detail on it, like a flower. While he clearly has some spare hats, since he will still have one on while his is missing, finding his hat will improve your relationship with him. While the letter doesn’t provide any hints as to where the hat might be, it’s relatively easy to find.
The Mayor’s Lost Hat Location in Coral Island
Mayor Connor’s lost hat in Coral Island can be found on the far east end of the beach. Head to far end of the beach, right past the spiral staircase, and head down to the small little section shown in the image above. The hat will be located on the ground near a star fish and palm tree, however you can’t just pick it up.
For some reason, you need to hit the hat with your bug net a few times before you get the prompt to pick it up. Picking it up is also a bit delicate, since you need to be standing a specific distance away for the prompt to appear. After going through this ritual, you will be able to pick up the hat, which will now be in your inventory.
Once you have it, track down Mayor Connor and hold the hat. This will give you the “Give Quest Item” prompt when standing next to Connor. Give him his hat and he will thank you. The only reward for this quest is a boost to your relationship with him, so you don’t need to go into the quest menu and manually complete it. The relationship boost will kick in when you go to sleep for the day.
