Where To Find Torchic in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk

This fire type starter isn’t where expect it to be.

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Torchic, the fire starter from Gen 3, returns in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, but finding one can be challenging. The most important information is that Torchic, along with the rest of the returning starters, is not available right away. To make Torchic appear, you must upgrade the Polar Biome, where Torchic is found. To do this, you need to complete Blueberry Quests and accumulate 3,000 Blueberry Points. Once you have enough points, go to the League Club room and interact with the computer there. Scroll down to find the Polar Biome upgrade option and purchase it. With that all done, you can encounter Torchic in The Indigo Disk.

While it might seem odd, Torchic is found in the Polar Biome in The Indigo Disk. It makes sense in context since Torchic is only found in one particular cave in the area, which would be warm enough for a fire Pokemon. This cave is located on the cliffside, south of the Polar Plaza, where the Elite Four battle occurs. The cave contains a Tera Metang, so you can look for the golden sparkles for confirmation that you have the correct location. Below is an image of the map showing where I’m standing in the above image.

That cave is the only location where you can find Torchic in The Indigo Disk. While the starters are pretty common once you upgrade each biome, since Torchic is only in this one spot, they might not always be there. The easiest solution is to eat a sandwich with a fire-type encounter boost. The simplest sandwich to make is a pickle sandwich, which just has pickles and vinegar. With the bonus active, I found about eight Torchics in the cave at once.
