The Draco Meteor is a craftable Dragon-type TM Special Move in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that deals a massive amount of damage at the cost of temporarily reducing the pocket monster’s Special Attack. As one might expect of a Dragon-type Move, it is exceptionally effective against Dragon-type enemies. On the other hand, it has no effect on Fairy-type opponents and does half the damage to Steel-type Pokémon. As a result, this Move makes for a good finishing blow on targets. The majority of Dragon-type Pokémon, such as Dragonite, Baxcalibur, or Garchomp, are capable of learning this Move via the corresponding TM.

Unlocking the Draco Meteor TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Receiving the TM 169 Draco Meteor from Penny in Pokemon Scarlet Violet

The only way to unlock the Draco Meteor TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is by clearing Starfall Street, one of three storylines of the main campaign. This questline involves locating and defeating leading members of Team Star Crews scattered across the regions of Paldea. Their Team Levels range from Level 21 at Dark Base to 56 at Fighting Base.

Penny, the Trainer protagonist’s classmate and final boss of Team Star, will reward players with the Draco Meteor TM at the end of the Starfall Street storyline. Fans should not have to worry about missing Draco Meteor since they will be tasked with meeting Penny in front of the Academy at the end of Starfall Street, making the TM a “mandatory reward.” Once players have received this TM, the next step is understanding which materials are required to craft it.

Draco Meteor, also referred to as TM169 as its Technical Machine, requires the following resources to be crafted in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

  • 14,000 League Points
  • Goomy Goo ×8
  • Applin Juice ×3
  • Frigibax Scales ×5

Goomy can be found in multiple locations across Paldea, but the best spots to search would be in the lower sections of the South Province, near the South Paldea Sea. Applin can be found in the Tagtree Thicket and the forested areas around Cascarrafa. Applin is a rare spawn, so players might need to eat sandwiches to boost their Encounter Power. Finally, Frigibax inhabits the snowy region of Glaseado Mountain.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
