Those who haven’t played previous Zelda games should know who the Koroks are in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These creatures are quite interesting and they are likely to take an important role in the upcoming project.
In The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Koroks are some kind of collectibles you can find across the world. Let’s take a look at these small wooden creatures and their potential role in the new Zelda game!
Who Are the Koroks in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
The Koroks are a tribe of small people who wear masks. They are some kind of reincarnated or transformed version of Kokiri. These are the tribe of forest people that can be encountered in most Zelda games. Even the name of the Korok tribe is a bit similar to Kokiri. Also, they are still watched by the Great Deku Tree.
In The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you can find the Koroks everywhere across the world and they work as collectible items. In most cases, you will need to solve a puzzle to make a Korok appear. After that, the creature will give you a special seed to purchase equipment slots from Hestu.
Also, it seems that most people in the world of The Legends of Zelda can’t see Koroks, as they are forest spirits of some sort. So, they usually get surprised when they realize that Link is able to see them.

Are The Koroks Confirmed in The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Well, in this short gameplay trailer where Eiji Aonuma shows us some new features, we can see one of the Koroks. If you rewind the video to 1:21, you will see Link riding near one of these creatures. The poor little thing tries to carry a huge backpack and can barely move.
It’s unclear how exactly we’ll be able to interact with the Koroks in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, it seems that we’ll be encountering them across the world, and maybe they’ll give us some quests. For example, the Korok that we mentioned in this article, says something about its friend, whom it needs to reach. So, maybe we will need to help this Korok and it will give us a quest.
Overall, the Koroks are cute and fun, and it’s always nice to see them in Zelda games. Who knows what kind of role they will take in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
