Many new characters popped up in the latest episode of the Star Wars series, Ahsoka. Be warned, there will be spoilers for the episode in the article from here on out. Episode 6 of the show, Part Six: Far, Far Away, finally saw the introduction of a live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). But it wasn’t just Thrawn who was introduced. We learned of a group of Nightsisters, some Noti, and that Thrawn commanded an army of Night Troopers, including the gold-faced Captain Enoch. But who is Captain Enoch in Ahsoka? Let’s see if we can shed some light on this mysterious character.
Who Plays Captain Enoch in Ahsoka?
Even though we haven’t seen his face, we know who plays Captain Enoch in Ahsoka. The actor who plays him is Wes Chatham, who you might remember from The Expanse, where he played Amos Burton. Chatham also had roles in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay and The Unit. Ultimately, we don’t know who Captain Enoch is. He could be an existing character who has taken up the name, donning the cool golden Night Trooper armor. Or he could be an original character created for Ahsoka, one who leads Thrawn’s army.
It’s uncertain how significant Captain Enoch’s role will be in the Star Wars universe. Fans assumed that Marrok’s identity would be a big reveal. For instance, they could take off their mask and reveal that they were Vader’s old apprentice from The Force Unleashed, Starkiller, or that it would be a former Jedi like Barriss Offee. In the end, it seems like he was just being controlled by Morgan Elsbeth’s Nightsister magick. Thrawn does say that his army has dwindled in numbers since arriving on Peridea, so you have to wonder whether any of the Night Troopers are sharing Marrok’s fate.
Of course, even if Captain Enoch is alive, with only two episodes of Ahsoka left, there’s a solid chance he won’t survive the show. If he doesn’t survive, it’s likely that he’s just one of Thrawn’s many pawns and has no connections to the wider Star Wars franchise. But even if he is inconsequential, you’ve got to admit that his armor is one of the best-designed costumes we’ve seen from Star Wars in a while. Let’s just hope that he’s not another Captain Phasma. You can watch Ahsoka on Disney Plus, with new episodes released on Tuesdays.
