The Legend of Zelda series always had simple but engaging and heartfelt stories. This is also the case with Tears of the Kingdom, the latest entry in the Zelda franchise. While the story itself is quite good, a big portion of that quality is because of the amazing job the voice actors did. King Rauru is one of the key characters in Tears of the Kingdom and the events that unfolds in the game. He is also known as the Founding King or The First King of Hyrule. This amazing character is voiced by Chris Hackney who also appeared in Octopath Traveler II which was released in 2023 as well.
Hackney has mostly worked on Japanese games and provided the voice-over for the English version of the game. Apart from TotK and Octopath Traveler II, he also appeared in Fire Emblem: Engage as the voice actor for Dimitri. He also did some additional voices for Final Fantasy VII Remake and Horizon Forbidden West.
Hackney’s anime career is much more impressive. He did the voice of Haruta Shigemo in the English version of Jujutsu Kaisen and the Bartender in Attack on Titan. The most recent anime he appeared in was Vinland Saga which provided the English voice-over for Bug-Eys, Bui, and Hakon.

His career goes way back to 2002 when he did some voice acting for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed anime series and eventually appeared in bigger anime such as Sword Art Online and Hunter X Hunter.
