HoYoverse has decided to make the lives of its players six times more complex and, in turn, drain everyone’s wallets. Previously, the company has made important decisions regarding its banners, such as increasing the number of characters per update. However, for Honkai Star Rail 2.5, Trailblazers must choose between six banners for the 5-star characters. The tricky part is that there are two new 5-star characters and one new 4-star character, and all are the most useful re-runs for the story and meta.
Who is the Best Character in Honkai Star Rail’s 2.5 Banners?
Feixiao
This is the strongest and most solid character of this version. Her playstyle is similar to Acheron, although this foxian focuses on single targets, so she is ideal for bosses. The General needs teammates that focus on Follow-up attacks to gain stacks for her Ultimate. Also, Moze will be in the same phase, and he is a great partner for Feixiao. If you don’t have a good Wind character or are looking for a “boss-killer,” the General is a solid choice. Plus, if you are lucky to get Moze, you can pair the two of them with March 7th in her new Path and make a good FUA team.
Robin
Robin works excellently for follow-up teams, even for several 2.5 characters, although she is an adaptable buffer that you can use in several team compositions. This idol provides great buffs, and her Ultimate can advance the turn of all her teammates. Making Robin’s build is effortless and cheap; you can even use Light Cones 3-stars with her. If you have leftover currency after pulling for Feixao, go for Robin, as the singer is the best buffer for the foxian General.
Kafka
This Stellaron Hunter is ideal for DoT teams, although her companions are much more limited as she has better synergy with other 5-star. Black Swan or even Acheron are good companions for her, but if you don’t already have one of them, don’t pull for Kafka. Also, her build will require more money and time; in exchange, Kafka will significantly help you against meta content. On the other hand, assuming you don’t mind waiting, you can pull for her, bench her, and wait for another Black Swan and Acheron re-run.
Black Swan
Her debuffs are very useful and one of the characters that makes the game easier. Unfortunately, it is better to pull for her when you already have Acheron or Kafka to make her shine. Also, her build requires a lot of investment because her best Light Cones are 5-stars. It’s better to get Black Swan later in the game once you get one of her teammates.
Phase 2
Lingsha
This is a healer, but not just any healer, as she is also an offensive character. Lingsha can heal the whole team while dealing damage to all enemies, besides applying a negative status. She is excellent if you don’t have a good healer and even more if you don’t have one that cleanses. She can also help with compositions if you don’t have Aventurine and can be a great companion as Feixiao.
Topaz
This IPC worker will also be in phase 2, so if you want to improve your Follow-up teams, Topaz and Numby are a great option. Also, Topaz makes excellent teams with other follow-up characters and compositions like Dr. Ratio, Aventurine, Jade, March 7th (Hunt), and Feixiao. However, Feixiao is a much better option as she’s higher in most tier lists.
Robin is mainly the “best” character from the Honkai Star Rail 2.5 banners because of her versatility and buffs. However, everything will always depend on the characters you already have in your rooster. For example, if you need a healer, Lingsha will be very useful, or if you prefer a DPS, opt more for Kafka or Feixiao. Ultimately, this is one expensive version and one that won’t leave players’ wallets unscathed. So, check your finances, and may the gacha Gods be ever in your favor.
