We’ve grown accustomed to seeing bad things lately around the country. However, that doesn’t mean it’s all doom and gloom. One elementary school in New Jersey decided to throw a birthday party for a famous deaf dog. It is really wholesome to see how the community, parents, and students came together to celebrate this furry friend who is well known in several parts of the state and the country. Furthermore, it wasn’t just a small birthday party, as the whole school got involved in the event, which was full of party hats, balloons, and even a parade for the birthday boy inside the building.
In case you don’t know the dog we’re talking about, he is Cole the Deaf Dog, who has a TikTok account with his owner, Chris Hanna. Cole even won the ASPCA Dog of the Year ’23 award and has been around to help other people with disabilities.
To celebrate this four-legged hero’s birthday, an elementary school in New Jersey decided to throw a party for him, and you can see that it wasn’t just a run-of-the-mill celebration; it was a huge event for this deaf dog.
In the video, you can see how many kids approach Cole to congratulate him. Several children start grabbing party hats and wear them to celebrate alongside this furry friend. Also, the school decided to throw in a parade to celebrate the entrance of Cole into what seems to be the school’s gym. Cole rolls in on a small cart while wearing a king’s hat with the number 9, as all the children clap for him.
Children then proceed to sing “Happy Birthday” to Cole while using sign language, which is vital nowadays, especially for communicating with those with hearing impairments. Other children proceeded to sign more songs for him, and wrapped the event up with some celebratory burgers and nuggets for the birthday boy.
As you can imagine, this event touched many people’s hearts, who praised the school for celebrating Cole.
“That’s adorable,” said TheThrowawayForWork.
“That’s so sweet of all those kids to learn sign language just to communicate with that deaf dog on his birthday,” commented PackageNorth8984.
Ultimately, this is one of the sweetest things we’ve seen lately. No one would expect a school to throw a massive party for a dog, but if someone deserves it, it is Cole, who has been helping a lot of people out there, and we hope he continues to do so.
