On Friday, New York-based Whoopi Goldberg took aim at President Donald Trump. She accused him of having what she called “Obama and Biden Derangement.” Basically, Goldberg said that Trump is obsessed with blaming former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden for mistakes he’s guilty of making.
Goldberg’s comment came after an address to the nation that Trump made earlier this week. In his speech, Trump bragged that he had essentially “made America great again” during his second term as president. Trump said that he’d improved the economy, cleaned up various cities, and implied he was the best president to ever hold office.
Earlier this month, Trump accused the Democratic Party of promising Americans “affordability” despite that being one of his running points for his second term of presidency. He has also deployed members of the National Guard to cities such as Washington, D.C., and taken credit for that action, lowering crime rates that were already falling. In addition, he appears multiple times in the much-discussed Epstein files. In addition, his empowerment of ICE has caused a good deal of pain both for Americans and for others.
His own fault
Whoopi Goldberg, on an episode of ABC’s “The View” in New York this Friday, said of Trump that “he always likes to say people have ‘Trump Derangement’, but I feel like he’s got Obama and Biden Derangement.” She went on to say that instead of blaming previous administrations for the various issues Trump is having, he should recognize that he is the problem.
Trump himself has used the term “Trump Derangement Syndrome” when talking about other politicians who oppose his policies. While he might hope that implying the term will help to discredit his naysayers, that certainly isn’t the case. In fact, his critics have only increased in number.
“You did this,” Goldberg went on to say. “This is what you put together. It’s not them, it’s nobody but you. It’s you.” Goldberg echoes the sentiments of many residents of the United States who have been impacted by Trump’s decisions and policies. Whether or not Trump will listen to his critics remains to be seen.
