Why Blac Chyna Insists on Protecting Daughter From Showbiz Despite Music Debut

She doesn’t want Dream to make the same mistakes

Blac Chyna is a full-on mama bear when it comes to her children. The reality star recently discussed her daughter Dream Kardashian’s latest milestone. The 7-year-old proved she is a superstar in the making with the release of her debut song last month. However, Dream’s early success is no indication that she will be in the spotlight, like the rest of her family

Chyna, while on the red carpet at the 2024 BET Awards, gave insight into her daughter’s musical career. The proud mother explained that Dream’s song, Besties Do It Better, is just a fun project and nothing more. “It is no song. You can’t stream it, you can’t do none of that. It’s not a song that is released,” she told ET Online. Although Chyna proudly flaunted Dream’s vocals on social media recently, she noted that her daughter, whom she shares with Rob Kardashian is actually multifaceted.

“Dream is just, she’s learning different things about herself, and I think this is just one of the things. Dream has many talents, so isn’t just, ‘Oh she wants to do music.’ She does everything. She’s just so fun.”

The Rob & Chyna alum further revealed that Dream wrote the song while her boyfriend, Derrick Milano, produced it.

Blac Chyna’s declaration at the BET Awards is reminiscent of a previous parenting confession she made last year. The 35-year-old once shared that she doesn’t want her kids to follow in her showbiz footsteps until they are of age. Chyna knows her two kids are already in the spotlight thanks to their fathers, Rob and Tyga, and their association with the Kardashian-Jenner family. However, she believes her children shouldn’t fully venture into Hollywood until they are adults.

“I feel like just in general, my kids are gonna burn out from TVs and paparazzi and this and that. I like for them to be sheltered and have their imagination. That’s really important for me. The kids grow up so fast. Childhood is so short.
