Las Vegas was a TV series running from 2003 to 2008 on the NBC network (not to be confused with “Vegas”). Five seasons were released, however, the story was never completed and the fans were left with many cliff-hangers. Indeed, the story required additional seasons but the show was never finished.

NBC canceled it before the fans could get answers to their questions. Why did this happen, though? And is it possible that the show will be continued today? Will the story be ever completed? Below, we revisit the old TV show and provide the answers for those of you who still remember watching Las Vegas all those years ago.

Following the 2008 strike between TV producers and the Writers Guild of America, Las Vegas was canceled. Several episodes weren’t able to see the light of day because of the strike, and the show received low ratings, causing a loss of investment on NBC’s part. In an interview with TV Guide, the show’s creator, Gary Scott Thompson, had this to say:

At the end of the day, that’s NBC’s decision. It’s a monetary decision. You know, I sold my soul to get a Season 5, so I didn’t have a soul left to sell. We fought an uphill battle from day one. We were the little big show that could.

Gary Scott Thompson, TV Guide

As a refresher, the show depicted the realities of running a casino resort, focusing on various characters and drama within the setting. The action took place in a fictional Montecito Resort and Casino. Over the five seasons, its main characters had to deal with gambling issues and its service management on top of their personal lives and their relationships.

Crime was also an important aspect of the show, as it included a lot of shady businesses, strengthening the classic casino stereotype of the relationship between gambling and criminal activity. Today, there isn’t any TV show running that would be similar to this. If it were continued, we’re sure that it would become a hit among people playing various types of mobile slots.
