Hell’s Kitchen Season 23 is drawing to a close. Last week, the final five got their black jackets and, honestly, fans couldn’t care less. This season of the cooking competition has been underwhelming, to say the least, but why have fans “checked out” of HK Season 23? Here’s what people are saying.
Fans Feel Like Hell’s Kitchen Season 23 Is Dragging
It’s down to the final five on Hell’s Kitchen Season 23. The five competitors who earned their black jackets are Brandon, Egypt, Hannah, Kyle, and Whit. While viewers have favorites among this group, this season hasn’t been super interesting. Most people expected more from the “Head Chefs Only” installation of the reality show.
One viewer took to Reddit to discuss the latest season. “Has anyone else checked out of this season? I feel like it’s dragging….” they asked. It seems they’re not the only person feeling this way and there are several reasons fans are over Season 23.
Another viewer suggested that the long break through the month of December made it hard to stay engaged. “I was enjoying it at first, but the break really took me out of it and I realized that I don’t enjoy this cast as much as I thought I did,” they commented. A second person agreed, “The holiday break doesn’t help i think. that was a month of nothing happening. it could be an episode or two away from being over by now.”
It could be the competitors that have made Hell’s Kitchen Season 23 a bit lackluster as well. One Redditor pointed out, “It’s become kinda boring without the usual drama. Nobody really stands out talent-wise either. This low-key might be the most boring season IMO.”
Additionally, it seems that this season has strayed away from what made HK great for so many years. “I need like one chef to be completely confident and then bomb it utterly to make it true Hell’s Kitchen,” one fan wrote.
Others chimed in saying they were “ready for it to wrap up” and that this season didn’t “scratch the HK itch.”
Looking Forward To Season 24
That said, many fans are already looking forward to Season 24. In a recent Reddit thread, an eagle-eyed fan noticed that new chef photos were hanging in Chef Gordon Ramsay’s office in an Instagram post. That means that they are already filming the 24th installation of Hell’s Kitchen.
While the new competitors for next season have not been revealed, we do know some information. According to the Hell’s Kitchen Wiki, the theme for Season 24 will be “Battle of the States.” The Wiki also states that Chef James will be returning as the sous chef for the blue kitchen. Air dates for HK 24 have not yet been announced.
