You know your DoorDash meal is delicious when even the deliveryman can’t help but get in a bite. That, or the driver is just making trouble or pulling a prank. One Tennessee woman had to deal with such a DoorDasher when she discovered the tip of the Sonic pretzel she ordered had its tip bitten clean off. On top of that, the bag had a large hole torn through it, clearly the spot where the culprit broke in for a taste.
“A Dasher broke into my bag to take one bite of a pretzel. Door Dash wont refund my order,” the customer complained on r/mildlyinfuriating, sharing photos of her ruined order. Fortunately, she later updated the post in the comment section, revealing that DoorDash had refunded her for the order, including giving her $5 credit as compensation. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that the driver had delivered a bag of food with a hole ripped open on its side, plus the bite as a cherry on top. “If you’re ever in Chattanooga and Donald is your dasher, be wary of your sonic pretzels!” the customer warns on Reddit.
Her warning did not fall on deaf ears, as plenty of users in the comments remarked how they were either quitting DoorDash, regretted ever using the service as well, or just planned to never order from it. “My streak of never using DoorDash only continues further with this post,” read the post’s top comment. “This post was a good reminder to cancel,” added another. “When are people going to learn to maybe not pay unvetted strangers waaay too much money to bring them already overpriced food?” exclaimed a third.
As for the hole in the bag, the photo she shared was taken by the Dasher when the Sonic order was delivered, and the hole was clearly visible from when he took the picture. Yet, some people think that it wasn’t a person who tore open the bag. “That looks like an animal did it,” suggests a commenter. “A person did not do this 😂😂,” agreed another. Whether it was the driver’s fault or not, DoorDash still properly took accountability for delivering the woman a bad order, as it should have.
