However, one of this year’s Grammy Awards highlights was the 50th-anniversary tribute to Hip Hop. The celebration included performers such as LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, The Roots, Ice-T, and others. However, Will Smith was supposed to appear at the celebration. Unfortunately, Will Smith declined the Grammy appearance due to filming the new Bad Boys movie.
Questlove revealed the news during an interview with Variety. It seems the plans for Will Smith to be a part of the anniversary celebration were set. However, he started work on the new Bad Boys movie. The cast and crew began doing preliminary shoots this week, so the actor was unavailable for the Grammy tribute. Questlove went on to say that getting Will is hard because he shoots a lot of movies.
Though fans would have loved to see Will Smith hit the stage, they are excited that Bad Boys 4 is in progress. For a time, there was concern that the film would not continue due to Will Smith’s Oscar slap from last year. Of course, Will Smith stars alongside Martin Lawrence in the Bad Boys movies.

Will Smith is an integral part of Hip Hop history, so it makes since that the Grammys would want him for the tribute. However, Will Smith declining the Grammy appearance makes sense. Fans have been looking forward to Bad Boys 4 since the latest film in 2020. Bad Boys for Life was a smash hit at the box office, and it gained stellar reviews. Currently, there is no scheduled release date, but it’s probably safe to say that the upcoming Bad Boys movie will be out sometime next year.
