Angel Reese has officially silenced her haters after announcing her new signature shoe deal with Reebok.
The WNBA sensation, who had a stellar rookie season, signed a brand deal with the shoe company in 2023 during her time at LSU. Shaq, president of Reebok basketball, spoke briefly about signing the rising star in 2023 due to her ability on the court. “For my first appointment in this role, it had to be the GOAT,” he said. “There is no one making a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese.”
Angel’s first collection, which included custom T-shirts, jumpsuits, and jackets, was released earlier this year. However, the company has now decided to extend her contract, and they’re doing it big this time. On October 24, 2024, Angel announced that her first signature shoe would be arriving in 2026. With this new venture, she’s the second WNBA player behind Rebecca Lobo to have this honor. So, what does Angel have to say about the exciting news?
Angel Reese Teases She Can ‘Afford’ Her Bills Now
If you’ve been keeping up with sports throughout 2024, you’ve definitely seen Angel’s name in the headlines. Whether it’s snagging 60 combined rebounds in three back-to-back games or appearing alongside Megan Thee Stallion on stage, the 6’3″ power forward has been everywhere.
Recently, one of the biggest conversations surrounding Angel involves her finances. First, she lost a $100,000 bet to Shaquille O’Neal. Second, she alarmed fans in October 2024 when she said her league salary didn’t pay her bills.
In an Instagram video, the Bayou Barbie revealed her rent was nearly $100,000 a year. This, of course, caused people to wonder whether she was living beyond her means. Well, now that Angel Reese has secured a signature shoe, she’s made it clear there’s no need to worry.
On X/Twitter, Reese celebrated the big news, writing, “God is so good!” She continued, joking that she “can ‘afford’ my bills now.”
In addition to her new deal with Reebok, the superstar also secured a brand deal with Cash App. On October 23, the company revealed “The Angel Machine.” It’s a seven-foot-tall “monolith” filled with Angel’s earthly possessions, including shoes, bags, and crowns.
So, fans and haters alike can rest easy knowing Angel is in her bag.
