After the unexpected and chaotic death of Charlie Kirk, many people have been incredibly opinionated. It seems like everybody has a side: We should feel bad about it, or we shouldn’t mourn at all. No matter where you stand, it doesn’t seem right that a school could step in and force people to mourn his death. However, that’s where things stand with Oklahoma Schools. Now, a woman is speaking out about it.

Daeshawn (@daeshawnndior) shared a TikTok video outlining what was supposed to happen today in Oklahoma schools. She explained that “Oklahoma Schools is forcing kids to have a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk… September 16th 12 noon.” She received a notice from her child’s school outlining how it would happen. She said the text included praise for Charlie Kirk. It said, “He challenged students to think for themselves, value free speech, and engage in meaningful debate.” They went on to say that they would have the moment of silence for his “legacy.”

Daeshawn said that she doesn’t like that the schools are forcing children to do this. She is particularly opinionated about Charlie Kirk, saying that a young girl shouldn’t be able to “have an abortion” if she was SA’d. She then asked, “Why is my daughter having a moment of silence for him?” She believes that the board of education decided to do this as a way to incite anger among individuals. Daeshawn said that people can have a memorial service or a moment of silence in their own time. She explained, “Do that at home. But don’t force that s**t among other people.”

One person pointed out, “But learning black history is a no no.” Another person said, “Logically, it would make more sense for them to do a moment of silence for the lives lost in the school shooting..” Conservatives don’t agree. Charlie Kirk shooting? The entire world stops. School shooting? “Well, it’s just another day in America…”

The moment of silence didn’t happen as expected. State Superintendent Ryan Walters claims that many schools opted out of the moment of silence. Several districts said that they already have a moment of silence every day so that students can take time to reflect. Walters went on to say in a statement, “It speaks volumes that the same schools rushing to host pride parades, promote BLM rallies, and strip American flags from students can’t spare even a moment of silence for a man who dedicated his life to America, truth, and faith.” His agenda didn’t work the way he wanted and now he’s big mad for it, clearly.
