A delivery driver, possibly a DoorDasher, delivered an order to a Wisconsin woman, who was immediately rude to her. Her overall tone didn’t suffice, apparently, since she gave the wrong PIN to the driver and shut the door in her face regardless.
The clip, recorded through a Ring camera, was uploaded to TikTok by user karlamariedesigns (Karla). Karla is the downstairs neighbor to the rude woman, and she explained that she was out at the time of the interaction. Additionally, she was eating out at the time, so she wasn’t even home. However, she did witness the whole thing, as delivery drivers always ring her doorbell to get to her neighbor.
The delivery driver, checking on her phone, is seen waiting for the woman to receive her order. The latter opened the door and grabbed the bag. When asked about her PIN, the woman, in an apparent fed-up and annoyed tone, just said, “5858,” and then proceeded to shut the door in the driver’s face.
Wrong PIN Number Given, Reactions
The driver, a bit worked up by the woman’s rudeness, tried to enter the PIN she had just received from her. However, she was surprised when the PIN failed, as it was the wrong one. She rang the doorbell and knocked on the door, and another woman, most likely Karla, answered.
“Hello?” she asked. The driver requested, “Uhm, could you call her back down? ‘Cause she got me the wrong PIN number.” Karla agreed, saying, “OK… OK, I’ll tell her.”
The clip ended without a resolution to the conflict. Many in the comments were annoyed by the PIN request. However, users explained that DoorDash enforces a PIN in certain order types. Otherwise, a PIN is requested by the customer themselves. This means, potentially, that the rude woman herself requested the PIN and then gave the wrong number.
People bashed the Wisconsin woman regardless, calling her all kinds of rude. One user commented, “Giving the pin with an attitude & gave the wrong one.” Another one wrote, “We as a society are doomed. No greeting… the attitude… no thank you…” A third one added, “The customer requests the PIN verification. Why are they being rude, having to give it to the dasher?“
Being rude to a delivery driver, especially one who was nice from the get-go, is always a red flag. Thankfully, Ring cameras exist to make rude people accountable.
