If you want to take a bite at Worms series’ take on the battle royale genre, Worms Rumble, the open beta for PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam) is finally open this weekend. The Worms Rumble beta runs from today, November 6, until Monday, November 9. This is just around three weeks before the game’s full launch on PS5, PS4, and PC. This beta features cross-play functionality between PS4 and PC and includes three game modes you can try: Last Worm Standing, Last Squad Standing, and the classic Deathmatch.

Head of studio at Team17 Chris Coates said that this 32-player action title will be a perfect celebration for the series’ 25th anniversary. Along with new weapons such as Hammerhead, Sentry Turret, Plasma Blaster, and Rocket Shield, you’ll be able to use iconic armaments including the Sheep Launcher, Holy Hand Grenade, and Grapple Gun. He added:

We’re extremely excited to throw open the doors and give players a glimpse into Worms Rumble ahead of its release next month. Worms is a huge franchise that means a lot to us, and what better way to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary than with a title that revitalises the formula with real-time combat while retaining plenty of that classic charm we’ve come to love over years. Players will even get their hands on some iconic returning weaponry during their time in the beta!”

Team17 producer Danny Martin continued that, saying dynamic maps and character customization Worms Rumble beta will provide plenty of tactical options that will change how you play each match:

All of us at Team17 have had a lot of fun trying Worms Rumble out behind closed doors, and we’re ready to rumble with other fans in the beta. Whether you’re on PC or PlayStation there’s a lot to see in the beta, including dynamic maps that provide plenty of tactical options for players, not to mention cosmetics to customise your Worm and really make it your own! Get ready, because we’ll be meeting you on the battlefield.”

Worms Rumble is now available to pre-order on Steam for $14.99 and will give you access to the ‘New Challenger’ pack, featuring a cache of exclusive cosmetic items including an outfit, beanie, skin pattern, baseball bat skin, player banner, and challenge title. When the game releases on December 1, it’ll include cross-play matchmaking for PS4, PS5, and PC.
