Xbox Game Pass has been doing a lot in recent months and years to be ranked up there as one of the best-valued services in gaming, and if there was any way to bump its stock up even further, it’s by giving out free seasons with their Anime sale!
Every year, Microsoft puts on a month full of anime sales, and February is that time for 2021. In a post on Twitter, Xbox’s Larry Hryb (AKA MajorNelson) revealed that the first seasons of Dragon Ball Super, the follow up to one of the most beloved anime series ever, and One Piece, the pirate anime whose manga recently passed 1000 chapters, will be available to be redeemed for Game Pass Ultimate members through the month of February.

Dragon Ball Super is the follow-up to Dragon Ball Z, the anime that introduced the world to Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, and countless other characters that have lived on in cultural memory for decades. First airing in 2015, it continued the original plot that had finished airing all the way back in 1996 and escalated the action that made that original series so beloved.
One Piece is the anime with over 950 episodes aired to date and stars Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of his Straw Hat pirate gang as they search for the treasure to end all treasures, the fabled titular “One Piece.” It’s a very daunting prospect to dive into an anime that stretches out into the horizon, but it has a lot of heart. From what I’ve personally watched so far (a microscopic 49 episodes), there’s already plenty of evidence as to why One Piece has lasted so long, with both animes being worthy watches for Game Pass members.
That’s not the only bonus for Game Pass members this month. The Medium is a new debut on Game Pass and has done very well in the limited time it’s been on sale, making back its development costs in only a matter of days.
