The street date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for the Nintendo Switch has been broken and copies are out in the wild. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 releases for the Nintendo Switch on July 29, but some stores have released the game early. This isn’t the first time a street date has been broken for a Nintendo Game or system though. The Nintendo Switch Lite’s street date was broken and the system was out before its official release date as well.
Scalpers Taking Advantage
This is disappointing, as Xenoblade Chronicles 3 promises to be one of the Nintendo Switch’s biggest hits in 2022 and is one of its most-anticipated games of the year. Copies are already being sold on eBay, with one seller selling the game for $70 with $38.10 shipping. As of now, the listing has closed and 25 copies have been sold. For those looking forward to this game, it would be wise to take a break from social media for the next 10 days or so before release to not see spoilers. All of the Xeno games (Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade) are very story-centric with heavy narratives, and it would be a shame for someone to get the story spoiled before the game is even officially released.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 officially releases on July 29, along with a $30 expansion pack. The expansion pack will be broken up into four different volumes, with the first volume coming out on the game’s release date and the second volume releasing by the end of this year. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a huge endeavor for Nintendo, and it’s a shame to see the street date broken. If the previous games are any indication, the main game should be at least 100 hours with an excellent narrative. There’s also the final DLC volume, which will be an entirely new story scenario that could be a completely different game both in size and scope. Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s release is very exciting, and while it’s disappointing that the game has been released early, it’s still sure to fulfill fans’ expectations.
