Seeing as how Xenoblade Chronicles X is slated to be released in less than a month, the hype for it is growing by the minute. As part of Nintendo’s five-part video series for Xenoblade Chronicles X to help fans prepare to embark on a new adventure, their latest video focuses on the customization of mechs called Skells.

Skells enable players to switch to vehicle mode which allows faster traversal, or even a flight mode. Moreover, they allow players powerful weapons as well as access to every location in sight. Considering how massive the world is expected to be (larger than Skyrim and Fallout 4), fast traversal will be a necessity.

There are three different type of Skells, ranging from light to heavy armor, each with varying mobility and fuel carrying capacity. Players can also customize a skill set of combat and defensive skills called Arts to strengthen their strategies and defeat enemies. Each Skell has a unique set of weapons, each with varying art abilities.

One of the highlights of the video is that you are able to switch in and out of the Skell during combat. You will also be able to customize your Skell in the “garage”, changing features such as its color. Make sure the check out the video for the full in-depth coverage of the Skell!

Xenoblade Chronicles X is expected to be released on December 4th, for the Wii U. Stay tuned for details!

I believe that games are an important form of entertainment, and that they can uplift and inspire millions of people around the world. I love JRPGs, and dabble in many other genres, especially MOBAs.
