When cannibals and cults are at your door, that must mean we have a trailer for Yellowjackets season 2 (seen below). The footage gives a glimpse into the aftermath of that shocking finale of season 1, with a side of Elijah Wood’s guest role for the latest outing.
The series follows a group of women who survived a plane crash in their teens for a soccer match. They survived by doing gruesome things just to see another day. Jumping between the present and the past, we see what they went through while seeing how that affected them in adulthood. Decades later, things start to come around to haunt them once again from one of their old classmates.
The small bit of what we can see in the Yellowjackets season 2 trailer is a focus on the adults rather than the teens, who we will surely see as there is more story to tell, as we last saw winter arriving at their cabin in the woods.
Yellowjackets season 2 trailer prepares us for the aftermath of previous season
The series is led by Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, and Tawny Cypress holding down the present day storyline. The past is led by Sophia Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Pearl Amanda Dickson, Ella Purnell, Liv Hewson, Courtney Eaton, Jane Widdop, and Steven Krueger.
We will see quite a few new faces between adult versions of characters who were missing from season 1 to guest roles. The Lord of the Rings star, who we see for a fun little line, is in it for a season-long arc. Other newcomers for the adult roles will include Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Nuha Jes Izman, Nia Sondaya, Nicole Maines (Supergirl), and Lynskey’s real-life husband, Jason Ritter (Frozen).
From its 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes to Emmy nominations, the horror-drama became a huge hit for Showtime. It will have plenty of anticipation for the company and fans wanting answers. Thankfully, it is coming soon, so the trailer will satiate your hunger until Yellowjackets season 2 premieres on March 24.
