Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett posted on X criticizing White House press secretary Katie Zacharia’s short tenure, saying Zacharia was never an attorney and that “the American people deserve qualified public servants.” The remarks, which referenced Zacharia’s exit after roughly five days in the role, drew thousands of replies. Many online users responded by pointing to Crockett’s loss in the Texas Democratic Senate primary and arguing that voters had rejected her, sparking a debate over qualifications and consistency.

In less than a week, Trump’s newest lying mouthpiece was fired.

She was never an attorney. She never passed the bar, and from what we’ve seen, reading seems to be a struggle for her too.

As an attorney licensed in both Arkansas and Texas, I had to earn my credentials.

The post states: “In less than a week, Trump’s newest lying mouthpiece was fired. She was never an attorney. She never passed the bar, and from what we’ve seen, reading seems to be a struggle for her too.”

It continues: “As an attorney licensed in both Arkansas and Texas, I had to earn my credentials. The American people deserve QUALIFIED public servants. That standard should apply to everyone, including the man occupying the White House.”

According to multiple news reports, Katie Zacharia left the White House press secretary role after roughly five days, following a brief first briefing and questions about whether she had passed a bar exam.

Crockett, who has described herself as a licensed attorney in Arkansas and Texas, lost the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Texas earlier this year and is not seeking reelection to her House seat. White House officials have previously described Zacharia’s brief tenure positively in public statements, noting she was transitioning to a different role.

How Commenters Responded to Crockett’s Qualifications Critique

Many replies on X focused on Crockett’s own electoral situation. One widely engaged comment stated, “You were fired by the voters months ago.”

Another wrote, “LOL!!! You were fired! You should probably sit this one out.”

Some users questioned whether bar passage was relevant to the role of press secretary. One asked, “Who cares if she is an attorney?? Has nothing to do with the job.”

Another inquired, “Is it necessary to pass the Bar exam to be White House press secretary?”

Others addressed the credentials point more directly. One reply noted, “The qualification issue is true: one cannot practice law without passing the bar exam.”

Another stated, “She never claimed to be an attorney, just a lawyer, which she is.” A further comment observed, “She wasn’t the only one who got fired.”

For now, the post has added to the online discussion around Katie Zacharia’s brief time as press secretary and questions of qualifications in public roles. Commenters remain split between those emphasizing Crockett’s recent primary loss and those focusing on the standards her remarks raised.
