After Peter Moffat (Criminal Justice) left his showrunner position for Your Honor, season 2 found a replacement. Producer and writer of the series and known for his work on The Good Fight, Joey Hartstone will take over Moffat’s duties for the next season of the legal drama. Hartstone was also a writer for the Woody Harrelson and James Marsden movie Shock and Awe.
Led by Bryan Cranston, the series follows a judge who goes to great lengths to help his son after a hit and run engages an organized crime family; he must do whatever he can to save his son. It was originally intended to be a limited series as it was submitted for an Emmy consideration. After not receiving the nomination, Showtime renewed Your Honor for season 2.
The new showrunner was one of the lead writers with Moffat on the first season. On top of being an executive producer, he will have plenty on his plate for Your Honor season 2. Hartstone executive produces with Cranston, Nancy Honeycutt, Allison McDonald, Rob Golenberg, Edward Berger, Alon Aranya, James Degus, Liz Glotzer, and Robert and Michelle King. Moffat was a producer, but with his exit as showrunner, he will not be producing either.
