Yung Gravy is clearing the air about his romantic interest in Hawk Tuah Girl. The famous influencer recently blew up the internet with claims that the rapper slid into her DMs to ask her out. However, Gravy denies the allegations and is sharing the truth about what went down.
Taking to X, Yung Gravy provided proof that he only approached the influencer, whose real name is Haliey Welch, with the intention of being friends. He shared a screenshot of their DM conversation. The Welcome to Chillis artist expressed excitement about Welch’s success, telling her he was “just tryna salute you for being certified top champ.” He then proceeded to extend an invite to her, writing:
“This ain’t me trying to finesse cause idk your mans situation but I wanted to have you at a show next month to hear my county s**t.”
Hawk Tuah Girl responded, “When is it?” and the rapper replied with an invite. It seems Yung Gravy’s request was what Welch took for a romantic proposal.
Hawk Tuah Girl Wasn’t Feeling Yung Gravy
The 22-year-old first discussed her interaction with Gravy during an interview with TMZ. While dishing on how her fame has drawn people to her, she revealed that the 28-year-old tried to take her on a date, but she turned him down. According to her, he wasn’t so “clean” or “delicious.”
Despite the harsh rejection, Gravy told the publication that he still has huge respect for the influencer and the risks she takes. “I thought she was hilarious,” he explained. “I love Southern women, and I hate how people who don’t get pussy hate on women who are successful in some sexual way. He also noted that Welch inspired him to come up with a male version of her “spit on that thang” move in regard to women. At least, if Garvy and Welch can’t be lovers, they can collaborate professionally.
