Even celebrities have a hard time with online dating. In a new interview with Nylon, Zayn Malik confessed he tried finding love on Tinder but it’s never worked out. Although some may find it hard to believe the singer has failed to find any matches, his lack of success actually came down to his fame. That’s right. Apparently, everyone Malik has come across thought he was a catfish.

Malik told the publication that people took one look at his profile and weren’t convinced it was really him. Since they thought it was a fake page, they never took him seriously as a potential match. Some even reported him to Tinder and gotten him kicked off the app. Although Malik would eventually come back and try his luck again, the same thing would always happen. The incidents caused him to quit Tinder permanently.
It’s not been too successful for me, I’ll be honest. Everyone accused me of catfishing. They’re like, ‘What are you using Zayn Malik’s pictures for?’ I’ve been kicked off once or twice.

Luckily, Malik isn’t too upset over what happened. In fact, he learned a huge lesson from the situation. After jumping from one relationship to the next over the past decade, Malik said he’s finally learned how to be “content and happy” on his own. While he’s enjoying being a single man, the star hinted he eventually wants to find love again. However, that won’t be for a while.
It’s probably wise to take your time before you fully invest in another human being as a lifelong partner.
