There has been a lot of controversy surrounding New York’s Zohran Mamdani and his wife Rama Duwaji. While Mamdani has been receiving backlash for his policies, he is now receiving backlash because of some of Duwaji’s alleged tweets.
It all started when internet users found an account that is allegedly Duwaji’s and they were quick to go through her old tweets. Some of the tweets circulating were quite shocking to many, especially given how controversial they were.
Allegedly, in one tweet, Duwaji was mocking gay people as she wrote, “I think it was the gay [expletive] people from Instagram that finally motivated me to get off the internet.” Many considered this to be a homophobic remark. She is also accused of using a racial slur in another old tweet. In another alleged tweet, Duwaji used a short version of a homophobic slur. After all of these tweets circulated, people started claiming that Duwaji deactivated her account because of this.
These controversial alleged tweets started a conversation about how the wives of politicians will always be surveilled, especially by those who oppose them. The tweets also encouraged people to direct criticism at Duwaji and Mamdani as well because of their nature.
People Reacting to the Alleged Tweets of Zohran Mamdani’s Wife
People were quick to attack Duwaji over her alleged tweets. They also attacked the left in the same breath. “The Left never passes their own tests. Ever,” one person wrote. Another person then replied, “And when they accuse the Right of doing something, it is not because the Right has done said thing, but because the Left is REALLY guilty of it.” Someone else added, “The left will look into a mirror , see an idiot and will think that they are looking out a window. They can’t see the truth , even when they are looking straight at it !”
More people expressed their outrage as one person asked, “It’s amazing how fast the progressive outrage mob completely vanishes when it’s one of their own. If a Republican tweeted this, wouldn’t it be breaking national news right now?” Another person said, “They are rushing to defend her. Now they like racists, homophobes, and terrorist sympathizers. Its quite something.” Someone else wrote, “Mamdani’s wife is not only a terrorist sympathizer, but she uses gay slurs and is a racist.”
If these tweets are true and not fabricated, then Zohran Mamdani and Rama Duwaji will likely release a statement addressing them soon.
