Did the British Royal family just publicly drag Meghan Markle’s jam from her lifestyle brand? Since stepping down as senior members of the Royal family in 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry have been public enemy number one of the Palace. There is still a subtle ongoing rift between both parties. However, it seems the drama has escalated with the launch of Meghan’s American Riveria Orchard brand.
Meghan Markle’s Jam Not Endorsed By Buckingham Palace
Just days after Meghan Markle unveiled the first product from her American Riveria Orchard brand — a strawberry jam — Buckingham Palace publicly promoted a royal strawberry preserve line. The Instagram page of Buckingham Palace shop shared a video. It was of a woman’s hands spreading the produce on a scone, a croissant, a piece of toast, and a crumpet. The jar of jam featured a drawing of the coat of arms of the United Kingdom. “Our Strawberry Preserve is made using only the finest berries and is delicious served in a variety of ways,” the caption read.
It is unsure when Buckingham Palace created the product. However, the suspicious timing of their promotional post certainly raised eyebrows amongst fans. “Is it just me that loves the subtle shade?” one excited fan asked, while another wondered, “Wait! Did the Palace just subtly troll Ms. Montecito?!” A third fan described the post as “The Jam war across the ocean.” A fourth follower declared:
“That’s the only one we will be eating not that Meghan who stole the name of a bank for her stupid lifestyle company.”
This Instagram user stated, “Buckingham Palace over Montecito any day,” while another similarly remarked, “I’d rather buy your jam Buckingham Palace.” Others, however, condemned the behavior of the palace. One fan asked, “Do the royal family hate Harry, Meghan, and their kids so much that they don’t want them to earn extra income for themselves? At least it isn’t a book, you know, so you could at least let them do this. ….Normal healthy relationships uplift families.” Another disappointed fan penned, “God, the palace are pathetic since the Queen went. Dignity exited the monarchy with her. Time it ended.”
Meghan Markle Slammed For Recruiting Friends For American Riveria Orchard
Buckingham Palace’s subtle shade comes just a day after Meghan’s strawberry jam took over the internet. To launch her first product, the Duchess got help from her famous friends, who publicly promoted it on social media. She sent packages of the jam and some lemons to a select few — one of which was her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer. Spencer wasted no time sharing photos of the jam on her Instagram but her post was met with vitriol from fans. Many slammed Meghan for taking advantage of her friendship.
One fan questioned, “Like how can you not realize your friend is a manipulative narcissist?” Another similar comment read, “How much did the grifter pay you to roll around with a basket of lemons and jam?”
Meghan launched her lifestyle brand, American Riveria Orchard, on March 15 on social media. The brand will reportedly sell crockery, serving ware, and table linens alongside hosting a cooking show.
